Souls In Harmony is a 501c3 organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of those individuals who are encumbered by a special need or barrier. It could be a financial need or a physical or mental need. Through music and mentorship as well as education, we strive to share the the language of music that transcends all ages and wellness barriers.
- Instrument Bank – Tax deductible donated instruments will be made available to families in financial need in order to allow their child to be accepted into a band or music program. The instrument is freely given; however, if the student ever decides to give up playing, it is asked that the instrument be re-gifted back to the program to serve another’s needs.
- Student Mentoring Program – Senior high school students are selected through recommendation of their band director to take part in this “Teacher Building” exercise. These selected students would be paired with an upcoming Junior High band student to tutor them once a week on their selected instrument. Our hope is to plant the seeds that will grow our next generation of music instructors.
- Music in the Community – We will assist and coordinate with local nursing homes and healthcare facilities along with the local Senior Centers. Weekly music programs will be provided for their residents and attendees in order to promote wellness and socialization with local music groups.
- Senior High Music and Community Service College Scholarships – Monetary college scholarships will be given to graduating seniors in an active music program, Band or Choir, who exemplify quality music performance and dedication combined with the desire for serving their community.
